Overview

The QED Silver Anniversary-XT Bi-Wire has been specifically designed as the natural replacement for the multi-award winning Silver Anniversary speaker cable. Designed with performance in mind, the Silver Anniversary-XT Biwire speaker cable boasts all of the characteristics associated with Silver Anniversary but with the added enhancement of the Aircore technology found in the prestigious X-Tube series.

The QED Silver Anniversary-XT Bi-Wire successfully introduces QED’s high end ‘X-Tube’ technology into a mid-priced product for the first time. The precise cylindrical construction of the silver-plated, 99.999% pure, oxygen free copper cables reduces the distortion caused by ‘skin effect’. The result is a completely neutral speaker cable that allows good hi-fi and home cinema equipment to shine.

The QED Silver Anniversary-XT Bi-Wire is a standard ‘figure 8’ configuration and is attractively finished, with each silver-plated core visible through a flexible 3.9mm diameter clear polyethylene outer sheath. For ease of assembly and to ensure correct speaker ‘phasing’ the inner spacers, which maintain the cylindrical configuration, are each coloured coded red or white and are ‘crushable’ to allow straightforward crimping with ‘Airloc’ speaker plugs.

At low frequencies both QED Silver Anniversary-XT Bi-Wire and conventional stranded/solid core speaker cable convey signals in a linear way. At higher frequencies QED Silver Anniversary-XT Bi-Wire retains a near-linear signal transfer, whereas the conventional stranded/solid core cable fails to efficiently conduct higher frequencies uniformly across the entire conductor area.
