OMEGA ΞTRON® More than a decade ago, designer Caelin Gabriel developed the patented ΞTRON® technology. Since then, he has continued to refine the original circuit’s design, measurably reducing dielectric-induced signal distortion to an almost non-existent level. Gabriel has developed a more advanced version of the ΞTRON® circuit to augment the Omega speaker cable’s HARP™ and TAP™ technologies. The audible and measurable performance improvement of the ΞTRON® circuit has clearly demonstrated its ability to visibly improve signal square-wave response. The impact this scientific advancement delivers is startling, even when compared to a major component upgrade.

HARP was discovered through Gabriel’s research into ‘current drift’ and audio frequency current resonances that occur in speaker cables. Theoretically, a speaker cable may develop current resonances in the audio band, being roughly analogous to standing waves (modals) in room acoustics. The HARP module acts as a current mode diffraction device that breaks up these resonances, improving the perceived resolution and coherency of the system.The sonic results of TAPc technology include a profound drop in perceived noise floor, effortlessly portrayed dynamics, and an exceptional rendering of timing and coherency. These benefits are unique to TAPc, setting it apart from any competing product or technology. Even to an untrained ear, the effects of TAPc are immediately apparent and consistently repeatable across various components and systems. Essentially, the TAPc modules act as force multipliers, elevating the listening experience to levels many would not have thought possible.
ArNi® is a type of wire created by Shunyata Research designed to be the finest quality wire available for audio purposes. It begins with the highest purity of copper available – OFE C10100 or Ohno (single crystal). Then it is formed in virtual hollow tubes eliminating skin effects and eddy current distortions. A premium fluorocarbon insulation minimizes dielectric absorption and re-radiation, greatly improving resolution and clarity. In addition, the wire undergoes our proprietary KPIP™ process.
Shunyata’s VTX-Ag cables are uniquely constructed with both an inner, center conductor made of pure silver and an outer concentric ring conductor made of pure copper. It’s made using the finest fluorocarbon insulation to minimize dielectric absorption and re-radiation which translates to an improvement in resolution and clarity. VTX-Ag delivers the speed and clarity of silver and the midrange warmth and three dimensional power in the lower octaves of copper without imparting any of the negatives associated with either metal. – The best qualities of silver and copper combined.
KPIP™ (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process)
Shunyata Research uses its iconic KPIP™ process to pre-condition virtually all conductors and metals in its cables and power products. The KPIP™ process elevates the performance of all Shunyata Research products. Due to the massive size of the Omega conductors they undergo an unprecedented 8 days of processing, ensuring that they deliver optimal peak performance. A settling period 48-72 hours is all that is required to eliminate the effects of shipping.
Möbius Cable Suspension System
The Möbius Cable Suspension System is an integral part to the performance of the Omega speaker cables. It provides the most advanced cable isolation and support solution on the market. The Möbius features five polymer bands that sandwich the cable on all sides. These energy-absorbing bands have the unique ability to dissipate vibrational energy that travels along the surface of the cable and through the floor. The Möbius renders a significant reduction in perceived noise and time smear, yielding improved focus, clarity, depth, and spatial information. Eight Möbius wheels are included with each Omega speaker cable pair. One additional Möbius is included for each additional half meter of additional length.
