Overview
The CAT-7 cable standard was ratified in 2002 to enable 10 Gigabit Ethernet for over 100 meters of copper cable. It contains four twisted pairs of copper wires. CAT-7 cables have four pairs of twisted copper shields that are shielded for the best crosstalk performance.
The C7 series not only meets the requirements to allow 10 Gigabit Ethernet for over 100 meters of copper cable but also improves it. The thickened, gold-plated, shielded RJ-45 connector provides additional protection and prevents other signals from affecting it. At 5.5mm in diameter, the C7 series is stronger and more durable than other regular cables. In addition to four separate, shielded copper wire pairs, the C7 series is also equipped with a special ground cable and offers better transmission of the ground signal and thus better shielding performance. This ground wire can also hold the cable in place and prevent it from breaking when pulled.
