Audiolab Q-DAC 24bit / 192khz DAC

RM 1,990.00

The Audiolab QDAC is a stripped down version of the multi award winning M-DAC. If you've wanted an M-DAC but the price has put you off, the Q-DAC offers 95% of the performance at a lower price point, available in black or silver.

Q-DAC reaches a lower price point than the M-DAC by not including as many features. It does away with the remote control, removes the balanced outputs and has a smaller display. It also features only one optical digital input and one coaxial digital input, compared to the M-DAC which has two of each.

'this new DAC delivers 98 per cent of the mighty Audiolab M-DAC's performance for two thirds of the price' (What Hi-Fi? magazine)

'Audiolab should be applauded for keeping the Q-DAC as useful an audio tool as its pricier sibling. Despite what the name implies this isn’t only a digital-to-analogue converter. It has a volume control, and so can be connected directly to a power amplifier or pair of active speakers to form the heart of a digital-based system' (What Hi-Fi? magazine)

'Brilliant little budget audiophile DAC preamp - you can't ask for more really' (Hi-Fi Choice magazine)

'it's an ideal partner for anyone serious about hi-res computer audio. Best of all is the sound, which gives nothing away to anything else at the price and betters many costing more' (Hi-Fi Choice magazine)

'Treble is crisp, midband open and bass is taut and tight. Indeed, given the modest price, there's nothing you can seriously criticise' (Hi-Fi Choice magazine)

'Once given time to warm up thoroughly, the Q-DAC turns in a good performance' (What Hi-Fi? magazine)

However, you still get a headphones output, USB digital input, and analogue RCA outputs (allowing you to use it as part of a hi-fi as well as a computer listening solution via headphones). Q-DAC supports hi-res 24-bit/192kHz files via the coaxial digital input, with support upto 24-bit/96kHz over optical and USB.

If you don't need the remote control, balanced outputs and additional digital inputs of the M-DAC, the Q-DAC is exceptional value for money and offers a slice of a John Westlake designed DAC for a very affordable price.
